Bruce:
"Heading into The wild, the Innocent, I was intent on taking
control of the recording process. Greetings was primarily an acoustic
record with a rythm section. That was fine for the first time out, but
I had made my living primarily as a rock musician. Now I wanted to continue
the lyrical content of my first album but add to it the physicality my
music always hadcoming up through the clubs. For this record, I was determined
to call on my songwriting ability and my bar band experience.
By now, my
producers, Mike Apel and Jim Cretecos, had a chance to see me perform
with a band. They saw I knew what I was doing, and now I was determined
to take the reins and go in the creative direction I wanted."
